Changes to Sherman Studio, newest first. Follow along with the Atom feed.
Access groups: choir, elders, youth leaders
Next to sign-in levels, sites can now have access groups. A person can be in several, by name, by email domain, by invitation or from a form. Limit a page or form to one or more groups (anyone in any of them gets in), together with a level if you like. Templates can show sections by group. The site's top level can open every group page. Free. Read more
Update secret values in site settings
Owners can paste or update the value of an existing site secret in the site page's Secrets section. Values are never shown; new secrets are still created through the studio's MCP (set_secret). Read more
File uploads from visitors
Forms can now take a screenshot or PDF from a visitor (store_upload step), when a site admin turns uploads on. Files are kept in private storage with size, type and rate limits, and open only for the visitor who sent them, your staff, or a short-lived link. Webhook requests from flows can also be optional and sent in the background. Priced per stored file in credits. Read more
Help and support tickets
support.shermanwebdesign.com lists the guides and lets you open a support ticket by signing in with your Sherman Studio account, with an optional screenshot. Replies appear on your ticket's page. The studio's Get help link fills in which site and page you were on. Read more
Sign-in levels: members, staff and admins
Give the people who sign in to your site a level (visitor, member, staff, admin, or your own names), by person, by email domain or from a flow, and choose per page or form who can open it. Signed-out visitors are sent to sign in, people below the level see a “not available” page, and templates can show or hide sections by level. Works with Sign in with Studio and your own sign-in flows. Free. Read more
Sites now live at yourname.sitehost.dev
Every site's free address is now yourname.sitehost.dev, a domain of its own, apart from the studio. Older yourname.shermanwebdesign.com addresses keep working and redirect to the new address (forms and webhooks are not redirected). Sites also get stricter security headers, and names that imitate official services are reserved for new sites. Custom domains are unchanged. No extra charge. Read more
Sign in with Sherman Studio for your site's visitors
Site owners can let visitors sign in with their Studio ID (Google, Microsoft or Apple behind it): one setting, a ready-made button, members-only pages with no flows, a per-site private ID for each person and the email address they choose to share. Visitors see a clear consent screen and manage their sites on the Account page. Free to turn on; sign-ins are billed like other site sessions. Read more
